Daniel Venegas
Of Eaton Rapids, MI, and formerly of Detroit, MI, passed away peacefully on July 10, 2025, at the age of 81. Dan was born on September 3, 1943, in Detroit, Michigan. The son of Theodore Venegas and Lydia (Pena) Venegas. He grew up in detroit and attended school there before proudly enlisting in the United States Marine Corps, serving honorably during the Vietnam War from 1960 to 1964.
After his military service, Dan returned to Michigan, where he built a life and career as a roofer with the Detroit Board of Education. It was there he also raised a family alongside his late partner Patricia Gail Huff.
Dan had a passion for the water and was an avid fisherman. He also enjoyed video games and found freedom and joy riding his motorcycle. He was a proud member of the Sober Riders Motorcycle Club, where he built lasting friendships.
Dan was preceded in death by his parents and his daughter, Danielle Huff. He is survived by his children, Emily Huff (Brad Palm), Renee Rubbo (Nick), and Douglas Huff; his beloved grandchildren, Leona Palm, Ava Palm, Lakelynn Ludwig, Aiden Palm, Nicky Rubbo, Kayla Rubbo,Aliyah Roberts, Nene Villegas, Carly Nicholson; and multiple great-grandchild; sisters, Sylvia Tweedle (Bill) and Carol Fugaban; along with many extended family members and friends who will miss him dearly.
In accordance with Dan's wishes, no formal services will be held at this time.
