Eric Frank Stump

Eric Frank Stump of Eaton Rapids,

Passed away August 14, 2025, at the age of 53, following a courageous battle with cancer. Eric was born in Lansing, Michigan on August 10, 1972, the son of Larry and Chris (Peters) Stump. After high school he joined the United States Army and then went on to join the National Guard. Eric brought joy wherever he went. He loved Jesus, his family, family get-togethers, time with friends, church, music, hugs, fist bumps, watching Wheel of Fortune, art, beating his family at Uno (even if he had to cheat), nature and the world in general. His love of all things was infectious and felt by all who were lucky enough to have known him. Eric enjoyed golfing, bowling, hunting and was a loyal MSU fan and could always be seen in his green and white attire. Above all, Eric was a faithful man and donated his time helping with his church and Sharing Grace Ministry.

Eric is survived by his devoted Brother and Sister-in-law, Michael and Tara Stump of Eaton Rapids; mother, Chris Stump of Okemos; aunt, Vernice Chatfield; niece and nephews, Seth Nichols, Brennen (Sara) Stump, Hunter Stump; great nephew and niece, Michael Hunter Stump, Freya Kaye Stump; beloved cousins; foster parents, Ron and Robin Sutterfield; foster brother, Brandon Bond and foster sister, Tiffany Bond; lifetime best friend, Gary Hollon. He was preceded in death by his father, Larry Stump; baby brother, Ryan Stump; grandparents, Herman and Maxine Stump, Emily Rowell; aunt, Terri Burnham.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 11:00am, Saturday, August 23, 2025, at Thrive Church, 6044 S. Clinton Trail, Eaton Rapids MI 48827. Visitation will be held at the Mills Funeral Home in Eaton Rapids on Friday, August 22, 2025, from 6-8pm as well as one hour prior to the service on Saturday. In honor of Eric, everyone is encouraged to wear their favorite MSU attire to the visitation and service. Interment will take place in Leek Cemetery in Mason, Michigan.
