Benito Venegas

Funeral Mass for Benito Venegas, age 69 of Seminole, Texas, will be celebrated Friday, August 29, 2025 at 11:00 a.m. at St. James Catholic Church with Father Eduardo Teo officiating. Burial will follow at Gaines County Cemetery. All services are under the direction of Boyer Funeral Home.

Mr. Venegas was born in Artesia, New Mexico on March 13, 1956 to Ruth (Almager) and Jose Venegas; he had been a resident of Seminole for 60 years. Benny worked as a truck driver but family was most important; he loved his granddaughters more than anything. Benny was a great host for parties and get-togethers. Whenever he was able, he enjoyed fishing and his time at the casino. He was always feeding those who visited his home, and he was passionate about helping others; he made sure if someone needed something, they had it. He did many things to show his love for family and friends. Benny had a warped and loving sense of humor with those he knew and loved.

Benito Venegas passed away Sunday, August 24, 2025 at his home surrounded by family and friends. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother and one sister. Those left to cherish his memory include one daughter, Mary Ruth Garcia and husband Ruben "Blue" of Seminole; 1 brother, Joe Venegas of Seminole; one sister, Minnie Amaton and husband Tommy of Seminole, and three grandchildren.
