Daniel Robert Wallar

Daniel Robert Wallar, born October 15, 1941, passed away on July 27, 2025, at McLaren Hospital in Flint. Interment will take place at Montrose Township Cemetery with no official service. Daniel was born on October 15, 1941, in Flint, son of the late Ezra and Doris (Black) Wallar. He graduated from Shaw High School (Cleveland) in 1959 and was a long-term resident of Montrose. He married Patricia M. Keys on December 7, 1963, and they were married for 61 years until his death. After four years of service in the United State Air Force, Dan trained and worked as an electronic switchman at AT&T/Ameritech/Michigan Bell until his retirement in 1993. His favorite joy in life was raising two sons with his wife, and since then, spending time with his wife, sons, daughters-in-law, and grandkids. Daniel is survived by his wife, Patricia, a life-long resident of Montrose; his sons and daughters-in-law, Scott (Patricia) Wallar of Shepherd and Bradley (Leah) Wallar of Zeeland; granddaughter, Abby Wallar; and grandsons, Alex, Cameron, and Trevor Wallar. He is also survived by his brother, James Wallar of Cleveland, as well as several nieces and nephews. Dan was preceded in death by his four sisters. His family would like to express their thanks to everyone at McLaren Hospital for their very kind and compassionate care for the last week of his life.
