Daniel S Watson died unexpectedly on Tuesday, September 16, 2025, at the Westerly Hospital. A resident of Westerly, RI for the past thirty years he was the son of the late Hubert (Jim) Watson and Alice (Fish) Watson. Born in Westerly, RI., Danny grew up in Stonington attending local schools and was a graduate of Stonington High School class of 1976.

Danny was an exceptionally curious man who could fix just about anything that required a sharp mind and steady hands. His career as a machinist was a natural fit for his skill set. Danny spent most of his working career in the Manufacturing industry as a Machinist starting at the former ER Smith Co. in Westerly, RI and later with Davis-Standard for many years up until his retirement. He took pride in his work, always striving for perfection.

Danny could not pick a favorite hobby. He was as skilled at many crafts, including woodworking, gardening and baking. His creative outlets were a way to share his love with others. He savored the things he loved and never hesitated to express his dislike for what he didn't. He was a man of strong opinions and even stronger convictions.

He is survived by his wife, Suzanne (Boyle) Watson; his daughter, Anna Watson; two stepsons, Jacob and Andrew Mathews; his three siblings, Gary, Nancy and Karen and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brother, Mark.

His family will receive relatives and friends on Wednesday, September 24th from 10:00 -11:30 am at the Mystic Funeral Home located on Route 1 in Mystic. A memorial service will follow the calling hours at 11:30 at the funeral home. Following the service, Danny will be buried at the Elm Grove Cemetery on Route 27 in Mystic.
