Daniel Christian Weiss departed from this world on November 11, 2021 at the age of 17. Daniel received the gift of a new heart on October 28, but after a series of unforeseen complications, he passed peacefully. He was surrounded by loved ones.

Daniel was born in Rockville Centre, New York, on June 20, 2004 (Father's Day). He was truly a gift to us all. Daniel was born with a very unique and compromised heart. What Daniel could not do physically, he excelled at academically. He was a senior at Saratoga Springs High School, had a love for learning, and was excited to begin his college career majoring in Communications. Daniel was an excellent writer, historian, communicator, and had wisdom beyond his years. Daniel enjoyed being a part of the youth group Young Life, beginning his internship at a local radio station, and loved engaging in a lively debate. Like his family, Daniel appreciated a good laugh and participated regularly in our ridiculous antics. He was compassionate to others, hated injustice, loved his country, and most importantly, had a heart for God.

Daniel was an only child, and is survived by his parents Peter and Christina, and loving Aunts, Uncles, Cousins, and Grandparents. He will be missed greatly here on this earth, but we know through our faith in the Lord Jesus Christ we will be reunited with him again.

Relatives and friends are invited to calling hours on Friday, November 19 from 4pm to 7pm at Armer Funeral Home, Inc., 39 High Street, Ballston Spa. A funeral service will be held at the First Baptist Church of Ballston Spa at 10am on Saturday, November 20.

In lieu of flowers, please provide donations to Harboring Hearts (www.harboringhearts.org), a non-profit charitable organization that assisted us and many other families of transplant recipients.

We know that Daniel is in Heaven running, jumping, dancing, and hanging out with all of the great scholars and loved ones that have preceded him. We love you Daniel.

i would by lying if i said that i had met a soul like daniels before. his spirit was as bright as the light he cast when around him. daniel taught me that you shouldn't worry about what others might think of you, and he certainly didn't. his heart was fully put into the work he shared, the poems he wrote, and his goals in life. he showed me that our poetry can be a story that we tell to millions, for decades on. i know he had dreams and his motivation to accomplish them was outstanding. his spirit will continue to fill our lives with joy. i miss you daniel. thank you for teaching me things i won't ever forget.
