Rose Nelson Obituary

Rose was born on September 14, 1950, and was married for 55 years to her husband Daniel Nelson. Proud parents of their daughter Joanne, Rose was "Grammy" to her grandchildren Jack and Hannah Nelson-Unczur, who she adored.
Rose was a kind, loving, and gentle person who was loved by her many friends and family. As an accomplished quilter, Rose created many beautiful quilts which she donated to children's hospitals and nursing homes. Friends and family were also blessed with quilts handmade by "Aunt Rose."
A resident of Ballston Spa since childhood, Rose was a graduate of Ballston Spa High School, Adirondack Community College, and attended SUNY Potsdam. Rose's love for children extended to music education programs, Girl Scouts, and employment by Saratoga County Youth Bureau's Pre-School Unit. Rose enjoyed many vacations to Acadia National Park and the Adirondacks on family camping trips.
Rose is pre-deceased by her mother Gertrude Hanna Tracy, her grandparents Erwin and Marion Hanna of Blue Mountain Lake, her brother Phillip "Buddy" Tracy, and her sister Gail Vacula.
Surviving Rose are her husband Daniel Nelson, her daughter Joanne Nelson, her sister Catherine Roy, and her grandchildren Jack and Hannah Nelson-Unczur. "Aunt Rosie" had many nieces and nephews who she encouraged and loved.
Rose's family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the many friends and family members for their love and support given to this special lady.
Relatives and friends are invited to calling hours from 1pm to 4pm on Wednesday, September 3, at Armer Funeral Home, Inc., 39 East High Street, Ballston Spa. Funeral services will be held 10am Thursday, September 4 at Christ Episcopal Church, West High Street, Ballston Spa. Burial will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery, Ballston Spa. In lieu of flowers, those wishing are asked to donate to Community Hospice of Saratoga, 179 Lawrence St, Saratoga Springs, NY, 12866.
