Daniel Jackson Wise, Sr., 88, passed away on August 7, 2024 at his home.
He retired from construction work and farming. His chewing tobacco was his best friend. He enjoyed walking on the farm and spending time with his family and friends.
He was a U.S. Army veteran.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Frank Lee Wise and Margaret Mae Fortner; his wife, Bertie Mae Stacy Wise; son, Terry Stephen Wise; brothers, Joseph Wise, William Paul Wise, Frank Wise, Henry Wise, Bobby Wise and James Wise; sisters, Carolyn Clayman, Venus Davis and Virginia Dale.
Survivors include daughters, Tyna Carol Labrador and husband Edgar of South Carolina, Kathy Feeser and husband Lee of Florida, Melissa Ann Wise and partner Raymond Taylor of Honaker and Tammy Monk and husband Michael of Abingdon; son, Daniel Jackson Wise, Jr.; sister, Anna Stansell; twelve grandchildren, Kristy, Andrew, Sean, Shaynia, J.D., Brandi, Lee, Nathan, Samantha, Jade, Ryan and Julia; fourteen great-grandchildren, Haley, Bentley, Landen, Jackson, Keeley, Jet, Brayden, Kaelynn, Weston, McKinley, Gunnar, Tripp, Gracie and Willow. Numerous nieces and nephews also survive.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. on Friday, August 9, 2024 in the Combs-Hess Funeral Service chapel. Burial will follow in Ketron Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends Thursday, August 8, 2024 from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m at the funeral home.
Grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
Military graveside rites will be conducted by the Lebanon VFW Post #9864.
