Michael John Wise, Sr.

Michael John “Mike” Wise, Sr. age 66, of the Town of Rock Creek, Dunn County, WI passed away unexpectedly on Friday October 4, 2024.

Mike was born on February 10, 1958 in Winona, the son of Wanda Bauer.

Mike attended elementary school in Urne and then attended Mondovi High School.

On June 27, 1987, Mike was united in marriage to Sue Weiss at Our Savior’s United Methodist Church in Mondovi. To this beloved marriage, four children were born.

Mike was an extremely hard-working man with the desire to always care, support and provide for his family.

Retiring in 2022, Mike embraced and enjoyed his retirement and remained busy and working hard for projects that he wanted to do.

He was an avid outdoorsman and loved to spend time with his grandchildren fishing and hunting.

Mike will be remembered for his perseverance to make sure that if he started a project, that project would get done. He was a gracious and giving man that was willing to help a friend in need and had a personality that could make friends wherever he went by being the life of the party. 

Mike’s family will forever remember his smile, his soft heart and providing them with the best “dad jokes”. But mostly, they will remember Mike for never leaving them without a heartfelt “Love Ya” and being the true essence and definition of a grandpa. His memory and legacy will remain in the hearts of all that were blessed to know him. 

Mike will be sadly missed by his wife of the past 37 years, Sue; his children, Kristen (Scott) Peterson, Megan (Jackson) Serum and Michael (Loan) Wise, Jr.; his precious grandchildren, Aydon, Justice “Jack”, Keegan, Aidan, Delainie, Brynn, Drew, Ashton, baby girl, Sawyer and Camden; brothers, Rich, Jeff (Cindy), Kerry “Gare” (Jennie) and Paul (Sue); sisters, Anita Otte and Roxanne Brown; brothers and sisters in law, Raymond (Jan) Weiss, Mary (Dean) Estes, Joan Weiss, Keith (Annette) Weiss, Mike (Cathy) Weiss and Donnie Weiss; also by many nieces, nephews, and special friend that was like a brother, Rick Birtzer.

Mike was preceded in death by his daughter, Brittany; mother, Wanda Bauer; sister, Rose Blake; parents in law, LaVern and Irene Weiss; brothers and sisters in law, Jerry and his first wife, Barb and later his second wife, Gail Weiss; Dale Weiss and Ken (Sylvia) Weiss.

A celebration of Mike's Life will be held on Sunday, October 13, 2024 from 12:00 PM until 4:00 PM at Club 10 in Durand.
