WISNIEWSKI SR., DANIEL "DAN" Age 83 passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his wife and children on August 11, 2025. Beloved husband, father, brother, uncle, and grandfather, leaves behind a legacy of service, compassion and unwavering love for his community, family and friends.
He was born on March 21, 1942, in Detroit Michigan to John Wisniewski and Mary (Blaszak) Wisniewski. Dan followed his life-long dream of becoming a firefighter and served the Sterling Heights community from 1971 until 1995 when he retired as a Fire Inspector. Prior to that, Dan was drafted and served his country in Vietnam as a medic in the Army (Big Red One) from February 1964 until January 1966.
On June 18, 1966, Dan married the love of his life, Cynthia (Bronowski) Wisniewski and they shared fifty-nine amazing years together in their Sterling Heights home.
Together they raised three children: Michelle (Ed) Guldner, Daniel (Kelli) Wisniewski, and Lori (Dave) Crysler. Their lives continued to be blessed with five grandchildren: Michael Guldner, Evan Guldner, Danny Wisniewski III, Selma Wisniewski, and Claire Crysler.
His family brought him great pride and happiness.
Dan loved vacationing with his wife and children, and he cherished all the memories they created together. Dan loved bowling, hunting with his brothers, serving as firefighter, family parties, and a hot seat at the casino slots. Dan also loved plumbing. He was known as "Danny the Plumber" in the community and there is no measure to the lives he touched, helped and friendships he made.
Dan spent the last three years at home in hospice care where he was blessed to be cared for by his wife, family, friends, and caregivers. Dan was larger than life and was always giving everyone a hug and a kiss or a handshake that would shake your arm.
Dan was predeceased by his parents, John & Mary Wisniewski. Dearest brother of the late Edward (the late Jean) Wisniewski, the late John (the late Diana) Wisniewski, the late Fr. Robert Wisniewski O.S.A., the late James (Jackie) Wisniewski, the late Ronald (the late Betty Lou) Wisniewski.
Also survived by many loving nieces, nephews and friends.
