Daniel Wormald Obituary

Daniel David Wormald Jr., age 89, of Okeana, Ohio, passed away peacefully at his home on Monday, April 7, 2025.

Born on December 7, 1935, in Dayton, Kentucky, Daniel was the son of the late Daniel David Wormald Sr. and Virginia Smith Wormald. A proud veteran, he served in the United States Air Force before earning his degree from the University of Cincinnati. He went on to enjoy a successful career as a Marketing Research Manager at Procter & Gamble and Clorox. Daniel was a longtime member of St. Barbara Catholic Church in Erlanger, Kentucky.

In his free time, Daniel was an avid fisherman, passionate gardener, and enthusiastic hobby winemaker—always finding joy in the simple pleasures of life.

He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Mary Lee Wormald, on November 30, 2020. Daniel was the loving older brother of Carol Daudistel and Cheryl Daniels. He is survived by his devoted children: Alicia (Wayne) Starron, Daniel (Deborah) Wormald, Douglas (Kristy) Wormald, Karin (Barry) Papina, and Leslie (Darrell) Freeze.

He was a cherished grandfather to Brynne, Brandt, Samantha, Daniel William, James, Alexander, Rachel, Elizabeth, Danielle, Jonathan, Catherine, Rebecca, and Clare, and was blessed with numerous great-grandchildren.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 AM on Friday, April 25, 2025, at St. Barbara Catholic Church in Erlanger, Kentucky. Burial will follow at Mother of God Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 9:00–10:00 AM prior to the service at the church.

Daniel’s life was marked by deep faith, love of family, and a generous spirit. He will be dearly missed and fondly remembered by all who knew him.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to Hospice of Cincinnati in Daniel’s memory.
