Danielle Nicole (Parence) Enninful-Febuary 22, 1986 - January 6, 2022
"I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me." Philippians 4:13
Danielle Nicole Enninful was born on February 22, 1986 to Maurice and Gwendolyn Parence at the Francis E. Warren Air Force Base in Cheyenne, Wyoming. Danielle was the only girl amongst two brothers. At six months old, her life was dedicated to Christ at Friendship Baptist Church in Colorado Springs, Colorado under the leadership of Reverend El Ray Johnson. As a young girl, she played softball, participated in the base chapel activities, and loved playing with her brothers. Danielle thoroughly enjoyed being a Girl Scout, and for several years she would be the top-earning cookie seller of her troop.
To be near her grandmother, Danielle and her family left Wyoming for Colorado Springs, Colorado. Danielle was eight years old and entering the fourth grade. Family and her faith community were the bedrock of Danielle's life. Shortly after moving to Colorado Springs, she accepted Christ as her savior and was baptized by Reverend S.R. Fields, and became an active member of the Friendship Baptist Church. Her love for Jesus Christ as her personal savior remained throughout her life. As a church member, she participated in the choir and was an active member of the junior usher board.
Danielle loved music. She played the piano, the violin, and was an active member of the Colorado Springs Children Chorale until she graduated from high school. Danielle also participated in high school activities at Thomas B. Doherty High school. She played softball and basketball, was involved in drama and was a step-team member.
Wherever Danielle was, her personality filled the room, in spite of often being the only girl in the midst of her two brothers and their friends. She was witty, an excellent student, and loved to laugh. While a member of the Chorale, she traveled across the states, Europe, and Japan. It was in the Chorale that she met her closest friend, Myriah (Redford) Owens; they became "sisters," and the two settled on attending Concordia College in Moorhead, Minnesota, together.
While at Concordia, Danielle did participate in their well-known choir and graduated with a bachelor's degree in psychology. During her freshman year in college, Danielle met Charles Enninful and they were married her junior year.
After graduation, Danielle lived in Fargo, North Dakota, and worked at the Boys and Girls Ranch of Fargo. Her goal was to work and assist young people with trauma and addiction disorders. To this end, she enrolled in the Master's degree program specializing in addiction at the University of Mary in Bismarck, North Dakota. Danielle returned to Colorado Springs permanently in October 2015.
After her return, she faced several health challenges, however, over the course of the years she remained faithful to her Lord God. In spite of her health challenges, she was very future-oriented and had enthusiastic plans to complete her college education. She journaled consistently and was also very much engaged in plans for her personal life and recommitted herself to her lifelong dreams.
Danielle was preceded in death by her maternal grandfather, Curtis L. Thomas, Sr.; and her paternal grandparents, George and Elizabeth Parence.
She leaves behind, in hopes of them joining her in Glory someday, her grandmother, Cozzetta P. Thomas; her mother, Gwendolyn L. Parence; her father, Maurice Parence; her brothers, Brandon Parence and Marcus (M. Kelly) Parence; her great-aunts, Barbara P. Keller, and Lois P. Dixon; her uncles, Curtis L. (M. Dawn) Thomas, Jr., Patrick Thomas, and Calvin Parence; her aunts, Shirley Thomas, and Mishychel Parence; her nephew and godson, Jayden Parence; her nieces, Zoey Parence, and Pasiely Parence; her cousins, Courtney Thomas, Regina Thomas, Brielle Thomas, Tamekia Parence, Carl Mumford, Jazlyn Johnson, Amiya Johnson, Ajai Johnson, and Jordon Johnson; her beloved pooch, Tig Anthony; and a host of other cousins, church members, family, and friends.
