Danielle (Danni) Koppenaal, 29, of Jersey City, NJ passed away peacefully on March 26th, 2024 in Austin, TX in the arms of her loved ones. Born on March 10th, 1995, Danni grew up in Woodcliff Lake, NJ. She graduated from Immaculate Heart Academy and Syracuse University with a Bachelor's degree in 2017 and worked for The Wall Street Journal and Insider, Inc.
Danni was full of life, known for her quick wit, humor, big personality, and determination. Diagnosed in May 2023 with stage 4 colorectal cancer, Danni fearlessly fought to the bitter end while bringing awareness to the rising rates of colorectal cancer, among other cancers, that are impacting young adults within their 20s and 30s, through her podcast Cancer Chats: The Good, The Bad, and The Funny.
She is survived by her sister Kerri Lucarelli and her husband Francesco, her two beautiful nephews and godchildren, Leonardo and Andrea Lucarelli, as well as her beloved boyfriend Erik Kataisto.
Danielle will be missed by all those she touched in her short lifetime.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the V Foundation: Cancer Foundation for Research in Danni's memory.
