Danielle "Bunny" Phipps

Christinia Danielle Phipps, lovingly known to so many as "Bunny", age 56, of Stockbridge, Georgia, passed away on Friday, January 16, 2026, at Wellstar Cobb Hospital. She was born on January 29, 1969, the daughter of the late Mary Alice Maddox Johnston and James Eddie McIntosh. Danielle was blessed with the best Bonus Dad, when her mom married the late Walter 'Pete' Lawrence Johnston.

She was a true force of nature, hot-blooded, and unapologetically herself. Danielle lived life on her own terms, never pretending to be anything she wasn't. She was an avid animal lover, and many joked that she loved her animals more than most humans and truthfully, that might have been true. Her animals were her constant companions, her comfort, and her safe place in the world.

Danielle was a die-hard Georgia Bulldogs fan and a loyal Atlanta Braves supporter, celebrating victories loudly and enduring losses with the same passion she carried for everything else she loved. Sports weren't just entertainment to her; they were tradition that she shared with Poppy for many years.

But of all the titles she carried in life, her favorite was Mimi. When she became Mimi and Lily entered her life, a new light appeared. Lily brought a joy and gentleness that many had not seen from Bunny in years. She softened her, brightened her, and gave her a purpose that reached deeper than anything before. To Mimi, Lily hung the moon. That little girl was her pride, her joy, and the truest love of her life.

Danielle leaves behind her daughter and son-in-law, Halle and Eammon McCarthy; granddaughters, Lillian McCarthy and, due in June, Isla McCarthy; siblings, Heidi Johnston and Trent Johnson; several nieces, nephews, and extended family members. Bunny also leaves behind a host of wonderful friends and colleagues.

A service to honor Danielle's life will take place on Sunday, February 1, 2026, beginning at 3:00 PM, in the chapel of Cannon Cleveland Funeral Directors. The family will receive friends for a time of visitation for one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
