It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Dannie D. Murphy, a cherished resident of Jeffersonville, Indiana, who departed this life on Wednesday, July 16, 2025, at the age of 73.

Dannie was born on Friday, June 6, 1952, in New Albany, Indiana, to Edward "Tice" Murphy and Thelma Murphy, who preceded him in death. He was also predeceased by his beloved brother, Lonnie Murphy, and his maternal and paternal grandparents, Ed and LuElla Foster, and Edward and Bertha Murphy, respectively.

Dannie, known for his love of classic television, found great joy in the nostalgia of MeTV, with a special fondness for the show "The Fugitive." An avid fan of Elvis Presley, his days were often filled with the King's music. Throughout his life, Dannie faced numerous health challenges with unwavering optimism and a warm, infectious smile. He was never tired, as he would often say, bringing comfort and joy to those around him.

He leaves behind a loving family, who will miss him dearly, including his devoted sister Vickie L. Rager (Bill) of Jeffersonville, Indiana. Dannie's legacy of kindness and joy will also be carried on by his nephews, Shawn Rager and Michael Rager (Barbara), as well as Dwayne Murphy, and his nieces, Denice Able and Colleen Edwards.

The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to all who have expressed their condolences and support during this difficult time. Arrangements have been entrusted to Garr Funeral Home.
