Danny Ray Akines Sr.

Danny Ray Akines, Sr., 68, of White Hall, died Wednesday, February 22, 2023, in Little Rock. He was born April 30, 1954, in Pine Bluff to Carol Edward Akines and Syble Reeves Akines. After graduating from Pine Bluff High School, Danny worked for several insurance companies over the years, and drove a delivery route for Golden Flake. He learned welding in high school, and retired as a machinist at W&A Manufacturing.
Danny loved his family and spending time with them at get-togethers. He was always ready for a good game of cards or Dominoes. Hunting, fishing, and camping were things he enjoyed doing, especially with his family. He also was a huge fan of John Wayne movies.
He was a member of the Tee Road Hunting Club and the National Rifle Association. Danny also loved his church, First Immanuel Missionary Baptist Church, of which he was a long-time member and former usher, and was very active there until his health declined.
Survivors include his wife, Wanda Owen Akines, whom he married June 30, 1990; sons, Danny Akines, Jr. and wife, Tracy, Bobby Akines and wife, Becky, and Johnny Akines and wife, Alexis; daughters, Rachel Hunt and Sonya Cozad and husband, James; grandchildren, Owen, Daniel, Brian, Kerian, Ella, Donald, Brooklyn and husband, Stephen, Hannah and husband, Eric, Elizabeth, Rochelle, Emily, Cheyenne and husband, Nathan, Dakota, Caleb, Jeremy, Holley, Gavin, and Parker; great-grandchildren, Elijah and Gabriel; one sister, Judy Brown; two brothers, Arlin Akines and wife, Tammy, and Glen Akines; brother-in-law, Herbie Owen and wife, Stephanie; and a number of nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held 6:00-8:00 P.M. Friday, February 24, 2023, at Robinson and Fuller White Hall Funeral Chapel.
Funeral services will be 2:00 P.M. Saturday, February 25, 2023, at Robinson and Fuller White Hall Funeral Chapel, with Bro. Robert Cossey officiating. Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery.
