Eugene Duncan lived his life wide open-full of energy, laughter, and love. He had a deep passion for the outdoors, a thrill for the racetrack, and an unshakeable devotion to his family.
Eugene was never happier than when he was out hunting at sunrise, surrounded by the quiet beauty of nature. He loved the calm of the woods, the crisp air, and the challenge of the hunt. Those moments weren't just about the sport-they were about connection: to the land, to the people he loved, and to the simple joy of being alive.
When he wasn't in the woods, Eugene could be found behind the wheel of a racecar, chasing speed and excitement with that familiar sparkle in his eyes. He loved the roar of the engine, the smell of rubber and fuel, and the brotherhood that came with the racing world. It was pure freedom for him and a place where his bold, adventurous spirit truly came alive.
But for all the things Eugene loved to do, nothing compared to the love he had for his family. He was a devoted husband to Melissa, and together they built a life grounded in love and laughter. He was a proud father of Philip Duncan and Jessica Menotti, who knew him as both their hero and their friend. Eugene adored his grandson, Grayson, and loved nothing more than watching him grow-teaching him about hard work, kindness, and how to live life with heart.
Eugene was known to "steal" Jessica's dog, Maverick, every once in a while, until she finally gave Maverick to him. The two were inseparable from that moment on whether it be riding around town or heading to Jessica's for a visit.
Eugene was the kind of man who could fix just about anything, tell a story that kept everyone laughing, and show up whenever someone needed him. He lived with purpose, led with kindness, and left a mark on everyone lucky enough to know him.
Though Eugene has left this world, his spirit will live on in the woods he walked, the engines he revved, and most importantly in the hearts of his family who loved him beyond measure.
He will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
Funeral service will be 2:00 PM Tuesday, November 11, 2025 at Robinson & Fuller White Hall Chapel. Celebrant Marty Shell will officiate. Visitation will be Tuesday, 1:00 PM until service time.
