Danny Thomas Bailey

Danny Thomas Bailey of Columbus, GA passed away peacefully at his home on Monday, January 16, 2023.
Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM Thursday, January 19, 2023 at Evangel Church in Columbus, GA with Pastor Tommy Fountain, Pastor Bud Rupel and Pastor Paul Thomas officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the funeral service at the church. Interment will be held at the Parkhill Cemetery following the service. Active pallbearers are Matt McCall, Jerry Gilliland, Cory Gilliland, Mark McGowan, Terry Johnson and Bobby Hood. Honorary pallbearers are Darren Bailey, Dennis Bailey, Keith Bailey, Lonnie Bailey, Mike Bailey, Dewey Batchelor, Norman Batchelor, Don Taylor, and Randy Phillips.
Danny was born March 25, 1959 in Columbus, GA the son of Lloyd and Peggy Bailey. Danny was an active member of Evangel Church. One of Danny's greatest loves was singing gospel music. At age 14, Danny began singing bass with the New Life Quartet. He also sang with the Good News Singers, Glory Bound,and several others, concluding with the Proclaimers Quartet. He loved pouring over The Singing News Magazine every month and never threw any of them away. As much as Danny loved gospel music and attending concerts, the thing he adored the most was spending time with his 3 grandsons. He retired from Litho Krome in Columbus, GA after 30 plus years of service. He is preceded in death by his father, Lloyd Bailey, and his father-in-law O.B. Easom.
Danny is survived by his wife of 40 years, Sherrie Easom Bailey of Columbus, GA; daughter Melissa McCall (Matt) of Fortson, GA; grandsons, James, Cayden and Gavin McCall of Fortson, GA; mother Peggy Bailey of Columbus, GA; sister Cindy Lawrence (Larry) of Salem, Al and their children Tammy Middleton (Greg), Adam Lawrence (Jill), Matthew Lawrence (Jesie) and Josh Lawrence; mother-in-law Faye Easom of Roberta, GA; sister-in-law Amy Cody (Brad) of Roberta, GA and their children Luke and Laura Kate; and a host of other aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
A special thanks to the caregivers from Preferred Care Hospice for the compassion and dignity they gave in abundance.
