Danny “Dan” Wayne Bellar, 1951 – 2026, was the son of Felton and Carolyn Bellar. Dan was a lifelong resident of Denton, TX. Dan is survived by his wife, Rebecca, his son Joshua Bellar of Denton, step-sons Robert Walden of Allen, Texas, and Michael Walden of Denton, Texas, sister-in-law, Judy Bellar of Las Vegas and nephew Adam Bellar of Palm Springs and has 5 grandchildren. Dan was preceded in death by his mother, father and older brother Bill.
Dan graduated from Denton High School in 1970. He worked at his father’s service station until taking over the business after his father’s retirement, then sold the business in 1995. In 2006, Dan received his associate degree in chaplaincy from Christ for the Nations Institute in Dallas, Texas. Following that, Dan engaged in ministry of service as a Hospice care chaplain, his last position being with Solaris Hospice. Dan retired in 2020, due to his own declining health.
A visitation will be held from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM Friday, February 6, 2026 at Mulkey-Bowles-Montgomery Funeral Home, 705 N. Locust St., Denton. A celebration of life will be held at 12:30 PM Saturday, February 7, 2026 at Hope Community Church in Denton.
