Danny Richard Burnett, 74, of Monroe, NC passed away on Friday, February 23, 2024. He was born in Union County, NC on February 14, 1950, son to the late James Burnett and Martha Jones Burnett. He is also preceded in death by his loving wife of 52 years Jacqueline Long Burnett, and brother David Burnett.
A graveside service will be held at 3:00 PM on Tuesday, February 27, 2024, at Lakeland Memorial Park Cemetery, 1901 Lancaster Ave, Monroe, NC 28112.
Danny is survived by his two sons, Jason Burnett and fiancée Ashley Martin, and Todd Burnett, two brothers; Doug Burnett and Dana Burnett, three grandchildren, James Burnett, Holly Burnett, and Stephanie Burnett.

Danny and I dated in high school. We saw each other a few times in the following years.
I'd been trying to locate him over the last few years to no avail. Tried again tonight and found this obituary. So sorry we didn't get to see each other one more time...
