Danny Carpenter Sr. entered into his Heavenly home on Friday, September 5, 2025 surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Orma, Calhoun County, WV on June 6, 1942 to the late Brooks and Edna White Carpenter.
Danny proudly served our country in the US Army stationed in Germany as a tank mechanic. Upon his discharge, he returned home to marry the love of his life, Tennie (Hendershot). They recently celebrated their 60th anniversary on Sept. 4, 2025. Danny worked at Murray Sheet Metal, Mountain State Steel Foundry, Statewide Security, and retired from Nashua Photo. Danny was also one of the founding members of the Deerwalk Volunteer Fire Dept.
Danny was a devout member of Sunrise Church of Christ, and even to the very end asked to go to church services. In his younger years, Danny loved racing cars, especially at Ohio Valley Motor Speedway.
Second only to his family, Danny could often be found tinkering in the garage, hunting or fishing at Mountwood Park. There was never a reason he couldn’t be “up on the hill” watching for that big buck. Beginning in 1983, Danny and Tennie started a yearly tradition of going to Holden Beach, North Carolina nearly every summer. Many memories were made and will always be cherished.
Danny is survived by his loving wife, Tennie; daughters, Joyce Carter (John) of Davisville and Karen Clark (Roy) of Walker; sons, Danny Jr. Carpenter (Lisa) of Deerwalk, and Mike Carpenter (Lisa) of Murphytown;
Although John Loscar is not related by blood, he has always been a son in their eyes. Grandchildren, Jocelyn Haynes (Ryan), John Carter, Cody Kerns, Adam Carpenter, Noah Carpenter, Caleb Clark, and Josiah Clark; great-grandchildren, Liam, Thomas, Cali, Caspian, Kinsley, and Everleigh; siblings, Delores, Arnold, Becky, Carles, Carlene, Judy, Connie, and Ron.
He was preceded in death by his brothers, Richard and George Carpenter; great-grandaughter, Ariella Merinar and his precious grandson, Elijah Clark.
The family would like to thank Amedysis Hospice for their care and compassion and recognize Danny Jr. for being available at all hours day and night ensuring his father's needs were met.
