With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of our beloved father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend, Larry W Carpenter Sr, who peacefully passed away on July 23rd 2025 at the age of 76. A man of boundless love, profound wisdom, and a spirit of adventure, Larry leaves behind a legacy of cherished memories and a life well-lived.
Born on August 8th 1948 in Waco, Texas, Larry was the treasured son of the late Betty Jo Carpenter and Willie T. Carpenter. Growing up in a home filled with love and laughter, he learned the importance of family, kindness, and resilience. He is now reunited with his parents, whom he loved dearly.
Larry is survived by his loving siblings: Donna Alexander, Terry Hoppe, and Jerri Hunter; his sons, Larry W. Carpenter Jr. (wife, Anna Carpenter) and Stephen Chase Carpenter (wife, Kelli Carpenter); and his grandchildren, Clara and Colin Carpenter. Larry was a doting grandfather to his two grandchildren, taking every opportunity to spend time with them. Larry found his greatest joy in the time he spent with his children and grandchildren. His adventurous spirit led him to travel far and wide, often with his sons by his side. Larry created unforgettable memories on trips spanning continents, including Europe and multiple tropical destinations. Whether tubing through the underground streams in Belize or exploring new Texas BBQ joints, these moments of togetherness were the highlights of his life. The annual celebration of his birthday with his two sons brought many adventures and lifelong memories.
Larry was a man of integrity, generosity, and humor. His kindness touched everyone who knew him, and his presence will be deeply missed by all. He leaves behind a legacy of love, wisdom, and the importance of family and adventure that will continue to inspire his loved ones.
While we mourn his passing, we take solace in the knowledge that Larry is now on his final journey—one filled with peace and love.
He will forever remain in the hearts of those who loved him, and his spirit will continue to guide us.
