Danny Lee Cassidy

Danny L. Cassidy, 71, of Freeport, IL passed away Wednesday December 27, 2023 at Heritage Woods in Freeport. On November 13, 1952 Dan was born in Freeport to Gerald and Shirley (Brookman) Cassidy. He was a 1970 graduate of Aquin High School. Dan owned and operated his own painting company and took great pride in his work. He was a very active person, even in recent years when his health was in decline, he made sure to stay busy. Family and friends were very important to Dan and he will be remembered for his willingness to help and give advice on any project. Dan enjoyed spending time outdoors and he loved going to his place on the Pecatonica River. He was also an avid Chicago Bear and Cubs fan.
He is survived by his daughter Jen (Terry Sabin) Cassidy of Freeport, IL; two brothers Tom Cassidy of Myrtle Beach, SC and Mike Cassidy of Dixon, IL; six sisters Sue (Jeff) Matz of Freeport, IL, Mary (Steve) Pfieffer of Freeport, IL, Janet (Todd) Ernst of Freeport, IL, Diane (Joel) Kunz of Freeport, IL, Kathy (Dwayne) Westaby of Freeport, IL and Laurie (Phil) Williams of Freeport, IL; four grandchildren Cassidy (Gage Reid) Curran, Delany Sabin, Teagan Sabin and Jace Sabin; two great-grandchildren Kenadee Reid and Bentlee Reid; and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
Preceding Dan in death is his parents, sister Patricia and great-granddaughter Maicey Reid.
Per Dan's wishes there will be no services. Cremation rites have been accorded. A memorial has been established in Dan's memory.
