Danny Lynn Chaney, age 69, of Kilgore, ended his battle with cancer peacefully at home with all his girls by his side on March 23, 2024. Danny or 'Dan' known as by most was born on April 23, 1954 in Seminole, Texas to Walter Daniel Chaney and Annie Mothee Tow.
Dan was a 1972 graduate of Snyder High School. He made a career in oil field work at an early age and retired from working offshore on the oilfield platforms. He loved motorcycles, working outside on different odds and ends, playing pool, and hanging out with his many friends from Snyder all the way to West Point, Mississippi. He spent the last seven years in Kilgore close to his daughter and granddaughters. His personality and quirky sense of humor will be missed by us all. He could light a room just with one smirky smile.
Dan was preceded in death by his parents, and the love of his life, Brenda Chaney.
Dan is survived by his "girls" daughter, Kristi Green and fiancé Amanda Armstrong and granddaughters, Chelsey Womack and Audrina Green, all of Kilgore; step-son, Jared Seals and his children Nolan and Leah of Columbia, Missouri; brothers, Ivan Chaney and wife Lyn of Snyder and Ed Chaney and wife Sharon of West Point, Mississippi; and several other nephews and cousins; and a host of amazing friends that stretch from Snyder, Texas to Kilgore, Texas and to West Point, Mississippi and everywhere in between.
Dan was adamant about not having a funeral service so instead a lunch will be held on Saturday, March 30, 2024 at 11:30am at Blackland's in Snyder. All are welcome. Please come by and tell us your favorite 'Dan" memories.
