Danny Lee Cotrill

Danny Lee Cotrill, 63, passed away surrounded by his loved ones at home on Friday May 16, 2025 after battling his fight with Leukemia for the last 2 years. Danny was born on November 30, 1961 in Afton, Oklahoma to George Cotrill, Jr. and Jerry Cotrill.
Danny grew up in Disney, OK and attended Jay High School where he graduated in 1980. Danny enjoyed playing trumpet in the Jay High School Band. He enjoyed spending time with friends and family talking about the past and the good ole days. Danny started out young working at this family sawmill, which specialized in making gunstocks. Danny had many jobs throughout his life including marina manager, taxicab driver, truck driver (DAN DAN the rooster man) his call sign, head of security of Zebco, and Peterson Farms, where he met his wife Regena. Danny finished out his career at Cobb Vantress, where he had 25 years of perfect attendance, something he was very proud of and dedicated to his job. Danny's passions included working with his dad buying logs for their sawmill. He enjoyed spending time with his boys scraping metal, having yard sales, and cutting firewood. Danny also enjoyed helping anyone in need and would do anything he could. Danny loved talking to anyone and everyone telling stories, sharing history and sharing God's word. Danny was a Christian, attending South Grand Lake Baptist Church in Eucha, OK. Danny will greatly be missed by all of his family, friends, and anyone who had the pleasure of meeting him.
Danny was preceded in death by his parents George Cotrill, Jr. and Jerry Cotrill; his brother Ronnie Cotrill; Sister-In-Law Reta Cotrill; Great-Grandchild Emersyn LeeAnn Carver.
Danny is survived by his wife Regena Cotrill of Disney, OK; Daughters Lesley Guffey and husband Ross of Vanceburg, KY and Elizabeth Cotrill of Disney, OK; Sons James Cotrill of Disney, OK, and Jacob Cotrill of Disney, OK; Grandchildren Kasey Cooper and husband Hunter of Vanceburg, KY, Cloee Carver and husband Kyle of Rose, OK; Great-Grandchildren Kendall and Karringan Carver and Lindy Cooper; extended family and friends.
Danny's Celebration of Life Family Visitation to greet friends will be held on Thursday, May 22, 2025 from 6:00-8:00pm at Lawson's Funeral Homes & Cremation Services Chapel, 311 W. Gray St., Jay, OK 74346.
Danny's Celebration of Life Funeral Service will be held on Friday, 10:00am, May 23, 2025 at South Grand Lake Baptist Church, 3042 State Highway 28 Eucha, OK 74342 with Pastor Stewart (Stu) Henderson officiating. Followed by Danny's funeral procession to Spavinaw-Strang Cemetery in Spavinaw, OK.
Danny's burial will be at Spavinaw-Strang Cemetery in Spavinaw, OK.
