It is with heavy hearts that we announced the passing of Danny Davis, beloved husband, father, son, brother, grandfather, great grandfather, uncle, and friend, who left the world on Wednesday, September 10, 2025 at the age of 80 at his home in Guernsey, Wyoming.

Danny was born on Friday, September 15, 1944 to Lester James and Clara Mae (Kelley) Davis in Lusk, Wyoming. He attended school in Lance Creek and Guernsey. Dan entered the United States Navy on August 30, 1962. He was stationed at the Navy Base in San Diego, California. He served on the USS Princeton as a gunner mate and on patrol boats on the Mekong Delta River as an advisor. He was discharged on August 30, 1968. He was Commander of the local VFW Post #4471. He won the Commander of the Year award for the state of Wyoming VFW.

He was the proud owner of Dan's Bait Shop located in Guernsey. He had several others jobs as a bartender, van driver, working at the pig farm, and the Town of Guernsey at the Trail Ruts Golf Course.

He was also one of the original Hub City Motorcycle Club riders. Dan was an avid fisherman and hunter. He was happiest with a fishing pole in his hand, waiting patiently for the next big catch, or sitting quietly in the woods during hunting season, finding peace and joy in the outdoors. The lakes, rivers, and woods were just places he visited; they were where he truly felt at home. Dan shared his love of hunting and fishing with those he cherished most, teaching grandchildren how to bait a hook, cast a line, or follow the tracks of wildlife in fresh snow. He had a way of turning simple days outside into lifelong memories.

He is survived by his loving wife Mary Jane (Schulz) Davis of Guernsey; son Danny Davis Jr. (Amanda) of Marana, Arizonia; grandchildren Kayla (Kevin) Gross of Hartville, Wyoming, Autum (Damian) Smith, and Sahara Sala all of Aztec, New Mexico, Kourtny (Robert) Manley of Strasburg, Colorado, Wade Sala, Ciara (Tyson) Tschida, Hannah Sala, Wyatt Sala all of Marana, Kyler (Jody) Copsey of Lusk, Kassidy (Braxton) Langenderfer, Misty, Skiler, Hunter, and Donna all of Guernsey, Philip Morales of Cheyenne, Wyoming, and Lillyann Morales of Casper, Wyoming, Spenser Darley of Hudson, Colorado, Tiersa Darley of Grand Island, Nebraska, Andrea Darley of Gering, Nebraska, Cody (Hope) Darley of Sioux Falls, South Dakota, Briley Darley of Scottsbluff, Nebraska; adopted grandchildren, Michelle (Jeff) Struble of Wheatland, Wyoming, Eric (Tessa) Redenbaugh of Torrington, Wyoming, Christopher (Bailey) Orr, Justin (Dori) Orr all of Guernsey, Ryan (Bailey) Orr of Wheatland, Haylee Warner of Guernsey, Hunter Warner of Torrington; brother, William (Bill) Davis; uncle, Steven Kelley; niece, Sheena (Jeff) Thomas; special family friends, Lori and Shane Morales and Amy Copsey all of Guernsey; twenty-six great grandchildren; and three great nieces.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Lester Davis and Clara Burd; paternal and maternal grandparents; uncle, Sterling Kelley; aunts, Dolly Haefele and Beatrice Stanley; sister-in-law, Mary Davis; and many close friends.

He will be remembered not only for his passion for the outdoors but also for his kindness, wisdom, and the twinkle of humor in his eye. His warm smile will forever live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.

And I would give you if I could, the sounds and beauty of this wood - Ray Zander

In lieu of flowers the family would appreciate donations to the local VFW Post 4471 or the Guernsey Senior Center.

Details about a celebration of life will be posted at a later date.
