Danny Gilbert

Danny Gilbert, 69, of Otisco, Indiana passed away on December 13, 2025, at home with his loved ones by his side. He was born on October 20, 1956 in Seymour, Indiana, to the late Dave Gilbert, Jr. and Elsie Fern (Neddler) Gilbert. Danny dedicated many years of service as a skilled mechanic at Hall Brothers, where his expertise and dedication were respected and appreciated. He lived a life filled with hard work, laughter, and simple joys. On December 16, 2006, he married Evon Johnson, and she survives. Danny was known for his love of fishing, hunting, and old western movies. He was a simple man who appreciated the little things, whether it was a peaceful day on the lake or a good film after a long day in the garage. In addition to his parents Danny is preceded in death by his first wife, Linda Gail (Hazelwood) Gilbert; two daughters, Stephanie Jo Gilbert and Jennifer Rose Collman; one sister, Sharon Bagby; and one brother, Paul Gilbert. Danny is survived by his loving wife, Evon Gilbert; two daughters, Crystal (Gary) Ross and Jessica (Wesley) Gilbert; one step son, BJ Mosley; four sisters, Dora Hutton, Nancy (Phil) Bruno, Carmen (Dwain) Colwell, and Joyce (Kenny) Spriggs; grandchildren, Braxtin Ross, Caden Zollman, Karsyn Fecteau, Anthony Fecteau, Dustin Collman, Alexis Collman, Madison, Emma, Molly, Bradyn, Landon, and Mckayla; and great grandchildren, Emery. Funeral service for Danny Gilbert will be held on Friday, December 19, 2025, at 11:00am at New Frankfort Pentecostal Church in Austin, Indiana. Visitation will be on Thursday, December 18, 2025, from 4:00pm to 7:00pm at Collins Funeral Home in Scottsburg, Indiana, and on Friday prior to the service from 10:00am to 11:00am at the church. Burial will follow the service at the church at Combs Cemetery in Austin, Indiana.
