Gonzalo Benjamin Esparza, 97, passed away on March 25, 2026, at Norton Scott Hospital in Scottsburg, Indiana. He was born on September 11, 1928 in Mexico City, Mexico to Gonzalo Esparza and Elisa (Estrada) Esparza. Gonzalo lived a life rich in love, devotion, and diverse passions. A cherished husband to Maria Esparza for 60 years. Gonzalo's journey took him through various fields as he accumulated wisdom and experience, culminating in his role as a Regional Director in Honduras at the World Vision industry for many years. His interests extended beyond his professional life; he loved hunting and was skilled in gunsmithing, showcasing his appreciation for nature and craftsmanship. An aficionado in cosmetic chemistry, Gonzalo's curiosity and creativity also touched many aspects of life. He was an active member of Christ Gospel Churches International in Jeffersonville, Indiana, where he found purpose and fulfillment in his faith. Gonzalo is preceded in death by his parents and three sisters, Graciela Esparza, Elisa Esparza, and Yolitzma Esparza. In addition to his wife, Maria Teresa Esparza, Gonzalo is survived by two sons, Benjamin (Rosa) Esparza and Alan (Carmen) Esparza; two daughters, Diana Esparza and Ivonne Esparza; siblings, Samuel Esparza, Beto Esparza and Sonia Esparza; and grandchildren, Sofia Esparza, Brandon Esparza, Laura Esparza, Brian Esparza, Roberto Esparza, Ximena Esparza, Carlos Casasola y Jair Casasola. He will be deeply missed but fondly remembered for his unwavering love, kindness, and the impact he made on everyone fortunate enough to have known him.
