Danny Steverson Goude, 72, beloved husband of Jane Dudley Goude, went home to be with the Lord Thursday, December 28, 2023 at his residence.
Mr. Goude was born the son of Stephen Pharoe Goude and Dorothy Prosser Goude on August, 18, 1951.
He was the second born of six children and is survived by his five siblings; Glenna Goude Thompson (Earl), Richard "Ricky" Goude (Cathy), Loretta Goude Thompson (Jimmy), Katheryn "Kathy" Goude Griffith (Rudolph "Rudy") and Elisha "Lisa" Chastie (Allan).
Danny and Jane were married on August, 15 1970 at Screven Baptist Church and celebrated fifty-three years of marriage. Their home was blessed with two children; Laura Michelle Schimke (Jay) of
San Diego, CA, and Danny Jason Goude (Rebecca "Beth") of
Georgetown, SC, and four grandchildren; Samuel "Sam" Goude and Jase Goude of
Georgetown, SC, and Tuscany Schimke and Roman Schimke of
San Diego, CA.
Mr. Goude enlisted with the United States Navy and was stationed on the USS Newport News in Norfolk, VA. Soon after enlisting he served in the Vietnam War. Returning home he worked with Dudley's Shell service station, and Santee Cooper's Winyah Generating Station before accepting a job in Quality Control at Georgetown Steel where he worked in maintenance until his retirement in 2008. Danny was also a SC Licensed Residential Builder who founded Dream Works Construction, LLC and constructed multiple speculative homes.
Mr. Goude was raised in the Pentecostal Holiness Faith and upon returning home from Vietnam he attended Ringle Heights Baptist church before he found his home church with Georgetown First Assembly where he became a member in 1974. While serving at GFA he was a former deacon, former Sunday School Superintendent, Sunday School Teacher, Bus Ministry Captain, Royal Ranger Captain, Youth Ministry Volunteer, Childrens Ministry Volunteer, Member of Men's Fellowship, and served on numerous Mission Trips. Danny was an avid outdoorsman and was a member of various hunting and fishing clubs. He loved and honored God's creation and enjoyed Georgetown's bays, rivers and surrounding woodlands.
In addition to his immediate family, Danny has one aunt; Janice Hodge of Awendaw, SC., and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.
Danny was predeceased by his parents, grandparents, aunts, and uncles.
The Goude family would like to personally thank Agape Home Care, VA, SI helpers and staff for their caring and compassionate work.
A memorial service to celebrate Danny's life and faith will be held at 11:00 AM Wednesday, on January 3rd, 2024, at Georgetown First Assembly of God with burial at Pennyroyal Memorial Gardens. A reception will follow after burial at the church, offering an opportunity to share memories and condolences.
Visitation from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Tuesday January 2, 2024, at Georgetown Chapel Mayer-Ethridge Funeral Home.
