Daniel Lee Herrod (Danny) entered Glory on November 30, 2024. He was born in Conroe, Texas (Montgomery County) on November 6, 1972.
Danny is survived by his Loving wife of 27 years and 9 months, Stacy Herrod; Son: Jack Alexander Herrod; Daughter in Laws: Angelina & Barbara Castillo; Grandson: Gabriel Alexander Castillo-Herrod; Granddaughter: Madilynn Eleanor Castillo-Lakes; Parents: Doug and Beverly Herrod; Sisters: Delilah Redmond, Sherry McClain and husband James, and Susan Tidwell and husband Andrew; Brothers: Sammy Herrod and wife Connie, Gene Herrod and wife Brandi, Michael Herrod and wife Kim; Extended Family: Father in Law, Johnny Robinson; Aunt, Alice Morgan and cousin, Paige Morgan; Uncle Kenneth Taylor and wife Linda; Sister in Law, Stephanie Bagwell; Sister in Law, Shelley Ballard, and numerous nieces and nephews
Danny is preceded in death by his Mother in Law, Wanda Robinson, and Volley Bagwell, Brother and best friend by choice.
Danny and Stacy met in the summer of 1991 at the Coldspring Lions Club Youth Rodeo. That was it. They were best friends. They had the best life together and shared the greatest love story ever told. He’ll always be remembered for having a genuine smile and the most loving heart. “Always & Forever” is what they each told each other.
If Danny was home from a job, you’d rarely find him in the house. He had projects going on all the time. His main “project” and pride and joy was his grandson, Gabriel. Those two were always together. Danny loved that baby boy with a passion.
He loved gardening - he definitely had a green thumb and could grow anything. He loved building things. If Stacy needed something made, he would get it done.
He enjoyed fishing and had a great fishing trip last week with his brother, Gene. Danny was always there for you if you needed him. We joked that he was the “watch patrol” of our dead-end road because if he saw a strange vehicle he was going to investigate.
Danny loved animals … now he would tell you he didn’t like cats, but every night while watching television he’d have a cat or two in his lap, so you now know his “secret”. Nothing better than “puppy breath” is what he would always tell me.
Danny is going to be greatly missed by all. He was one of a kind and there will never be another “Danny Herrod.”
