Danny Ray Lilly, age 81 of Beckley, WV, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, December 11, 2024 surrounded by his loving family.
Born in Pipestem, WV on September 29, 1943, he was the son of the late James Robert Lilly and Easter Virginia Shumate Lilly.
Danny proudly served his country in the United States Air Force. He was employed as a coal miner and worked in construction. Danny was an avid sports fan and enjoyed golfing and playing softball and basketball. He also liked deep sea fishing. Danny adored his family and loved to spend time with them.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, James and Roger Lilly and sister, JoAnn Johnson.
Those left to cherish his memory include his beloved wife of 56 years, Carol Sue Winkler Lilly; sons, John Lilly of Churchville, VA, Joey Lilly (Sherri) of Beckley, WV, and Jerry Lilly (Michelle) of Wardensville, WV; daughters, Jackie Polley (Dennis) of Tipp City, OH and Jennifer Coalson of Churchville, VA; brother Steve Lilly of Pipestem, WV; sister, Patty White of Wyco, WV; grandchildren, Ethan Miller (Faith), Olivia Miller, Jackson Lilly, Jocelyn Lilly, Izabelle Lilly McKinney, James Edward Coalson II (McKinnelly Ramsey), John Robert Coalson, Alyssa Faith Lynch, Dylan Enke (Jasmine), and Jenna Lilly; great grandchildren, Aurora and River Enke.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm on Saturday, December 14, 2024 at Pivont Funeral Home Chapel in Hinton, WV with Pastor Michael Bennett officiating. Friends may visit from 12:00 pm until the time of service on Saturday at the Funeral Home. Burial will follow at the Lilly Cemetery in Pipestem, WV.
Pallbearers will be John, Joey, and Jerry Lilly, James Coalson II, James "Chucky" Lilly, Dylan Enke, and Jackson Lilly.
