Fischer Funeral Home - WarsawDanny Paul McCurdy, age 52, of Warsaw, Ohio, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, November 26, 2025, surrounded by his loving family after a brief illness.
Born November 4, 1973, in Millersburg, Ohio, Danny was the son of Lyman “Lester” and Diarra “Sue” McCurdy. He grew up in Warsaw and was a 1992 graduate of River View High School. After attending Hocking College in Nelsonville, he returned home and began working at Pretty Products in Coshocton. Danny later found his long-term work family at Cleveland Cliffs, where he proudly spent 23 years and formed many treasured friendships.
Among all the roles he held in life, none meant more to Danny than being a father. He is lovingly remembered by his two children, Brevin J. (Iona Walker) of Barlby, England, and Raelynn Marie (Tucker Garabrandt Hill) McCurdy of Warsaw, Ohio. In his younger years, Danny enjoyed spending time outdoors—hunting, fishing, and sharing in the simple pleasures of nature. He also fulfilled a meaningful passion by serving as a volunteer firefighter with the Walhonding Valley Fire District.
When he became a parent, Danny devoted himself wholeheartedly to his children. He set aside his own interests and poured his energy into supporting Brevin and Raelynn through their activities, from soccer fields to dance performances. He showed up—every time, no matter what—because family was the heart of his life. His children were his greatest pride, and he loved them with quiet strength and limitless devotion.
In addition to his parents and children, Danny is survived by his brother, Lester J. (Sara) McCurdy, and their sons, Ian and Benjamin, of West Lafayette, Ohio. His family will forever cherish his steady presence, kind spirit, and the deep love he carried for the people around him.
A visitation will be held on Monday, December 29, 2025, from 2:00–4:00 p.m. at Fischer Funeral Home, 412 E. Main Street, Warsaw.
