Danny Moore of Seaford, Virginia passed away peacefully October 21, 2025. He was 85 years old.

Danny is survived by his wife of 65 years, Jakie Moore; sons Judson Moore (Donna) and Jeff Moore (Michelle Hergenrother); sisters Sue Jones and Barbara Cockrell; grandchildren Mitchell Moore (Alexandra), Brett Moore (Lauren) and Kaitlyn Schakel (Michael); and great-grandchildren Gavin Moore, Kamryn Schakel, Kennedy Schakel and Kolbie Schakel. He is preceded in death by his parents Kelsor and Nell Moore, brother Tommy Moore and sister Terry Jurscaga.

Born and raised in Seaford, Danny was a 1958 graduate of York High School. He attended the Apprentice School at Langley before a long career at Naval Weapon Station Yorktown. After retirement, Danny spent nearly 20 years as a tram driver at Busch Gardens (his grandchildren might still be waiting in line for his tram to come around). Prior to his passing, he received great care from the staff at The Hamilton Assisted Living community in Yorktown.

A loving and dedicated husband, father and grandfather, Danny coached Judson and Jeff in baseball and football growing up in York County. Later, he and Jakie logged thousands of miles attending ballgames for their grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Danny would fit in a round of golf as often as he could.

He loved all of the family dogs as much as they loved him. And he'll be remembered most by his grandchildren for that signature laugh, a tug on the back of the ear, an affectionate "Buster Brown" and, of course, the crispest $20 bills.

Visitation will be held 1 p.m., Monday, Oct. 27 at Crooks Memorial United Methodist Church, 204 Cook Rd., Yorktown, VA 23690. A funeral service will follow at 2 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Crooks Memorial General Fund.
