Danny Willard Shangle, age 75, of Flint, passed away on Thursday, October 16, 2025, at MediLodge of Montrose. Graveside service with full military honors will take place at 2:30 PM, Wednesday, October 22, 2025 at Great Lakes National Cemetery, 4200 Belford Road, Holly. Arrangements provided by Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Road, Swartz Creek. In lieu of flowers, those desiring may direct contributions in Danny's name to the family for an organization of their choice.
Danny was born on November 20, 1949, in Flint, Michigan, the son of the late George and Dorothy (Spence) Shangle. He completed his high school education at Beecher High School, laying the foundation for a life dedicated to hard work and service. Danny also served in the United States Air Force during the Vietnam War, gaining valuable experience working as a mechanic until his honorable discharge. He was a respected supervisor with General Motors until his retirement.
Danny was known for his active involvement in his church community, where he contributed his time and energy to various activities and initiatives. He found joy in fishing, hunting and expressed his creativity through art and painting.
Danny is survived by his beloved daughters, Aimee Lowes, Sherry (John) Weeder, Shelly Shangle, and Kimberly Shangle; 13 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren. He is also remembered by his two brothers, Marcel and George Shangle, along with several nieces, nephews, and a wide circle of extended family and friends.
