Danny Lee Shumaker, age 62 of Marion passed away September 13, 2025, after a courageous battle with cancer. He was born April 8, 1963, to Bonnie Lenora (Cross) Shumaker & Donald E. Shumaker. He was a graduate of Ridgedale High School. He worked on an off shore oil rig and later came back home to help his Dad with D&S Drilling. He was a talented contract construction worker & could fix just about anything. Danny loved being outside and was an avid fisherman and hunter; he bagged his first Canadian black bear when he was only 10 years old.
He is survived by his son Caleb Kelley (Taylor) and granddaughters Payton and Remi Kelley. His Mother and Stepfather, Bonnie & Gene Bishop, his siblings, Tammy (Shawn) Millisor, Valarie Glass, Cheryl (Jeff) Gandert, Bob Bishop, Deb Langdon, Gene Bishop Jr., Christie (Jeff) Bending, and Anne Bishop. Also, several nieces, nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, Donald E. Shumaker, Grandparents, James & Dorothy Cross and Lewis & Martha Rice.
Funeral Service will be held on Monday, September 22, 2025, at White Oaks Freewill Baptist Church (1859 White Oaks Rd. Marion, OH 43302) at 1:00 pm. Pastor Kevin McCoy will officiate. Following the ceremony friends and family are invited to stay for lunch and a Celebration of Life in the Church Fellowship Hall. We encourage you to share your memories, adventures or photos of Danny. Burial will be at a later date at Grand Prairie Cemetery.
