Danny Lomax Sweatt

On the afternoon of April 5, 2025, Danny Lomax Sweat, age 71, went to heaven to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ in Boise, Idaho. He was born June 26, 1953, at F.E. Warren, AFB in Cheyenne, Wyoming to Lonnie L. and Lilly (Morris) Sweatt, the oldest of two children. Dan graduated from Cheyenne East High School in 1971. He loved blending his beautiful tenor voice in school groups and in the choir at Grace Church of the Nazarene. Modern Choir at East High, Youth for Christ activities and serving as Nazarene Youth President for our local church were the highlights of Dan's high school career.
Dan graduated with a BA degree in Christian Education from Northwest Nazarene University in 1975, where he delighted in signing with the Northwesterners. He served as senior class president and president of the College of Ministerial Association. Upon graduation, Dan was hired as youth pastor to several Nazarene churches in Indiana, Michigan, Washington, California, and Idaho.
Dan was preceded in death by both his parents. He is survived by his wife, Johanna of Boise, Idaho; 3 children, Gary (Janelle) Wilburn of Layton, Utah, Richelle Lane of Sacramento, California, and Craig (Erika) Wilburn of Anchorage, Alaska; 11 grandchildren; his sister, Mary (Chuck) McGuire of Goodyear, Arizona, a nephew, and many aunts, uncles and cousins in Alabama.
