Danny Ray Thomas, age 79, was born in Repton, Alabama, on July 24, 1946, and passed away on Wednesday, September 17, 2025. He is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Betty Moates Thomas; his sons: Michael Thomas and Kenneth (Alicia) Thomas; five grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents: Bonnie Feaster Thomas and Clarence Ray Thomas.
Danny grew up in Crichton, Alabama, and was a graduate of Murphy High School. He loved to be outside and tinker in his yard. A fun pastime he loved was to go fishing. Danny was a very giving and generous person, and never met a person he didn't like. The love of his life was his family, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. Danny was a long-time member of the Hill Spring Baptist Church in Mobile, Alabama, and loved his church family.
A visitation will be held on Monday, September 22, 2025, from 9:00 - 10:00 a.m. at Mobile Memorial Gardens Funeral Home, 6040 Three Notch Rd, Mobile, Alabama. The funeral service will immediately follow at 10:00 a.m. with burial after the service at Mobile Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
