Danny A. Whitmore

Danny A. Whitmore, age 74 of Verona, passed away on Sunday February 5, 2023 at the VA Hospital, Oakland. He was the son of the late Joan and John Whitmore. Beloved husband for 47 years to Carol Whitmore. Loving father of Todd Whitmore and the late Scott Whitmore. Brother of Gary Whitmore and Margie Zellhart. He was also survived by many nieces and nephews. Danny was a proud Air Force Veteran serving in the Vietnam War as a K-9 Officer. He was very spiritual, religious, and had a deep faith in God. In his earlier years, he enjoyed coaching his boys in Little League, loving all of his children's sporting activities. Being a supportive father to Scott and Todd in their upbringing was of utmost importance to Danny, and his boys were grateful for it. Friends and relatives will be received at the BURKET-TRUBY FUNERAL HOME CREMATION AND ALTERNATIVE SERVICES, INC. 421 Allegheny Ave. Oakmont, PA 15139 on Thursday February 9 from 4-7 p.m. where a prayer service and military honors will be held at 7 p.m. If desired, memorials may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project.
