Dayton - Danny Yoho, 65, of Dayton, died unexpectedly Wednesday, March 11, 2026 at Kettering Health in Dayton, Ohio.
Born August 10, 1960, in Athens, Ohio, he was the son of the late Donald E. Yoho and Carrie M. Dowler. Danny was a 1979 graduate of Athens High School and attended Ohio State School of Cosmetology from 1982-1985. He had a long career in the hairstyling field working various positions which included Master Stylist and as a manager. He worked as a platform artist earlier on in his career. He later transitioned into the medical field where he graduated from Florida Hospital of Health Sciences to begin his nursing career.
Danny was described as very social, liked helping people, a natural problem solver, loved to organize and plan his day, a confidant to many, and a people person. He was family oriented, loved having family get togethers, ie cookouts, holidays, birthday’s etc. He loved to travel, especially anywhere that had a beach and was devoted to his dog Sammy who brought him great joy. He really valued being an uncle, and was a great partner, brother, and friend. He will be deeply missed by us all.
He is survived by his partner, Dustin C. McClure: his beloved dog Sammy: four sisters, Teresa J Capers ( Christopher), Angela Robertson( Brian), Keri Yoho’Dodge ( Christopher), Danita L. Sharp( Davy): one step sister, Dee Dowler Staten; one sister-in-law, Bonnie Yoho; nieces and nephews, Rachael, Stacie, Natasha, Tyree, Andrew, Kirsten, Julienne, Kailyn, Morgan, Emmalee, David., and several great nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Donald E. Yoho Jr and Michael W. Yoho: his stepdad Dennis L. Dowler Sr; one stepbrother, Dennis L. Dowler and a great niece, Kyndel Roop.
Graveside services will be held at 2:00 PM on Sunday, March 15, 2026, at Athens Memory Gardens in Athens. Friends are invited to sign the online guestbook at ehwfh.com. Services have been entrusted with the Hughes Funeral Home in Athens.
