He was born on March 23, 1961, in Columbus, Ohio, he was the son of the late Richard and Joyce Jordan Martin. He grew up in Columbus, Ohio and found himself seeking a quieter place to call home. Gary was known as a kind and giving person who cared deeply about those around him. He will be remembered for his generous heart and the quiet ways he showed support and compassion to family and friends.

He is survived by his brothers, Larry Martin, David (Kim) Martin, Ronald Martin, and Bill Martin. Gary; neices and nephews, Jamie (Travis) Mollett, Kathleen (Rickey) Shiltz, Kellie Martin, Tyler (Tasha) Martin, Marinda Martin, Haley Martin and many great neices and nephews.
