Daphne Darcel Davis (Defibaugh) was born on July 28th, 1951, in Kingfisher, Oklahoma to Charles and Hazel Davis. She is the oldest of three children.
Darcel graduated from Kingfisher in 1969. She then moved to Oklahoma City and attended Oklahoma School of Banking and Business. Soon after graduating from business school, she worked as an accountant for a small company. In 1972, she took a job as a tax commission officer with the Oklahoma Tax Commission office. She retired in 2019 giving her 47 years as an Oklahoma Tax Commission officer.
In 1983, she met Gary Defibaugh and was married on April 28th, 1984. He had preceded her in death in July of 2024. Together they had 1 child, Zachary Wynn Defibaugh who was born in 1985. Through the years of Zach growing up, Darcel loved sports and would cheer her son on every chance she had. She also enjoyed watching OU games like football and softball with her son. Darcel also had a love for playing card games and later in life she enjoyed rummikube with her daughter-in-love and granddaughters. She also loved baseball and rooted for the Chicago Cubs.
She leaves to mourn her lost is her son, Zach Defibaugh with his partner Amanda Fischer, two grandchildren Lacey and Zoey Defibaugh from Yukon, Oklahoma, along with two sisters: Susan Davis Larsen with husband Ed in Niza, Missouri and Catherine Davis Endecott with husband Wilbur from Smyrna, Georgia. She also has two nieces and two nephews: Melinda Melena with husband Paul from Omaha, Nebraska, Adrian Hinkle with husband Leland from Mustang, Oklahoma, Donovan Hauser with wife Rachel from Grand Island, Nebraska and Keith Larson with wife Demetria from Nixa, Missouri. Seven great nieces and eleven great nephews along with many Kansas cousins.
