In Loving Memory of Daphney Bethany Sunrise: September 18, 1962 – Sunset: October 6, 2025
Daphney Green Bethany was born on September 18, 1962, in San Antonio, Texas, to Joyce L. Williams and Billy R. Green. She graduated from Sam Houston High School in 1980 and went on to fulfill her dream of becoming a surgical technician at Southeast Baptist Hospital.
Daphney was a devoted mother, cherished grandmother, loving daughter, sister, and friend. Her life was a beautiful testament to love, strength, and resilience, especially as she faced the challenges of multiple sclerosis with unwavering grace. She had a unique ability to bring laughter and warmth to everyone she encountered.
Her passion for music, culture, and beauty enriched not only her own life but also the lives of those around her. She delighted in watching game shows like Jeopardy, The Price Is Right, and Let's Make a Deal, as well as indulging in daytime soap operas.
Daphney loved listening to the soulful melodies of artists such as Sade, Mark Morrison, and Alexander O'Neal. She also took great pleasure in caring for plants and had a deep appreciation for all things oriental and African. On occasion, she enjoyed a good horror show, with Tales from the Crypt being one of her favorites.
Nothing brought Daphney more joy than being a mother and grandmother. Her nurturing spirit and loving nature left a lasting impact on her family and friends. Daphney passed away on Monday, October 6, 2025, and she will be deeply missed by all who knew her. She was preceded in death by her father, Billy R. Green, and her beloved son, Randy Bethany.
Daphney is survived by her loving children, Torrie Bethany (daughter) and Terrance Bethany (son), her cherished grandchildren, her mother, Joyce L. Green, her brother, William Rodney Green, and many other relatives. Her memory will continue to shine brightly in the hearts of those she touched.
"Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me." ~Psalm 23
