Dara Gordon Murray, 60, passed away unexpectedly on September 26, 2025. She was born in Abington, PA to Leonard and Roslyn Gordon. Dara is preceded in death by her father, husband, Gary, and brother, Arnold. She is survived by her mother, brother, Craig Gordon (Michele), daughters, Allie Tate (Joseph) and Sonia, and granddaughters, Arabelle and Magnolia Tate.
Dara graduated from Wootton High School in 1982 then pursued a BS and MBA from the University of Maryland. Dara also earned a MS from Johns Hopkins University. One of her proudest accomplishments was earning a Doctorate of Health Administration from the University of Phoenix. Dara was a co-author for The PhD Book of Empowerment and actively engaged in doctoral-level research.
Dara pursued a long and fulfilling career as a cybersecurity professional for the federal government. She had many accomplishments and was well respected in the field. This was her true passion and it showed.
After retiring, Dara was finally able to become a full-time sun goddess. She and Gary moved to Ocean Pines, MD and were officially beach bums in their happy place. Dara was active in the local community and well known by many neighbors. She was a member of Temple Bat Yam, where she participated in several groups and community service events. Dara was known for her incredibly giving heart. If she could help you, she would.
If you knew Dara, you knew she was Bob Dylan’s #1 fan. Her collection is incredible and her knowledge was even more impressive. Gary’s final gift to her was definitely one of her favorites. They visited the Bob Dylan Center in Tulsa, OK in April. Her heart was full.
Dara loved many but was loved by even more. She will surely be missed.
