Dara Alane Storey of Mobile, AL passed away September 25, 2025 after a long and courageous battle with an unexpected illness following a surgical procedure. She was surrounded by her family, life partner, Jeff Monet and longtime friend, Tony Robertson.
She is preceded in death by her husband, James Patrick Storey, her parents, Alton Delano and Mary Virginia Roberts, and her daughter, Mary Kathryn Stacey. She is survived by her children Michael Melton (Lisa), Briane' Johnson (Jeremy), Kristi Meissner, Jamie Kemp (Kyle), her grandchildren, Zachary and Cody Melton, Tristan and Ashton Johnson, Dylan Nenadal, Tyler Baumann and Noah Meissner, her brothers, Roger Roberts and Phillip Roberts (Jayna), and her nephews and nieces Lance, Jeremy, Devon and Gabrielle Roberts.
A devoted mother and grandmother, Dara's love for her children and grandchildren was beloved and known. She loved exploring life, her daily walks, and was an enthusiastic plant lover. Her large, friendly personality left a mark on all who had the pleasure of knowing her. She was a selfless individual to a fault and a rock for anyone who needed her. Her absence leaves a void that cannot be filled.
A private celebration of Dara's life will be held at her residence with family and close friends.
Dara's light and love will forever live on guiding the hearts of the ones that loved her.
