Darleen D. Strong, 91, Spring Hill, Kansas, formerly of Plattsburg, MO., passed away Tuesday, March 17, 2026, at the University of Kansas Medical Center.
She was born April 11, 1934, in Cameron, Missouri, to C. Asa and Alma (Gibson) Defreece. Darleen was a 1953 graduate of Cameron High School.
On June 1, 1957, Darleen married Jon Strong. He preceded her in death on September 1, 2022.
She was a longtime member of Broadway United Methodist Church in Plattsburg, Missouri.
Darleen was an avid golfer and supported her children and grandchildren at their sporting events. She loved the Chiefs and Royals as well.
Most of all, Darleen loved her family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Jon Strong; and two brothers, Bob and Bill Defreece.
Survivors include her children, Randy (Vicky) Strong of Maryville, Missouri, Sandy (Alan) Shine of Battlefield, Missouri, Jon (Julie) Strong of Liberty, Missouri, Greg Strong of Plattsburg, and Dee Ann(Ron) Talley of Spring Hill, Kansas; 12 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; brother, Richard Defreece of Chicago, Illinois; sister, Donna Simpson of Tulsa, Oklahoma; several nieces and nephews.
