James William Downey, 82, Plattsburg, Missouri, passed away Thursday, February 5, 2026 at American House of Burlington Creek.
He was born July 10, 1943 in California to Kenneth and Grace (Powers) Downey.
On April 2, 1969, James married Sharon Lynn Johnson. She survives of the home.
James owned and operated James Downey Real Estate & Appraisal for 40 years.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Survivors include his wife of nearly 57 years, Sharon; daughter, April Downey of Gladstone, Missouri; sisters, Victoria Downey-Goff, Norma Kimzey, Carol Stuart (Claude), Jane Welch (Ric), Deborah Lake (Rich), and Joyce Cambron; brothers, Dan Downey (Jill), Fred Downey, and Sam Downey (Sharon); brother-in-law, Mark Johnson (Barb); and a host of nieces and nephews.
