Darlene Anderson, a lifelong resident of the Mississippi Gulf Coast, passed away peacefully on August 11, 2025 at the age of 73. Born on September 25, 1951, in Pritchard, Alabama, Darlene was the beloved daughter of the late Ethel Anderson.

Raised in the Baptist faith, Darlene carried its values with her throughout her life. She attended 33rd Avenue High School and made her home in North Gulfport with her spouse. Known for her vibrant, upbeat spirit, she lived life with an open heart and a zest for the things she loved – good food, good music and good company.

An amazing cook and a devoted mother, Darlene found joy in reading, traveling and relaxing with her favorite television shows. She also had a lifelong love of music, with a particular fondness for hip-hop; Mystikal was her favorite rapper.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Ethel Anderson; her daughter, Ethel Anderson; and her sister, Gloria Moody.

She is survived by her spouse, Eric Tims; five children, Gary Anderson, Toleado Harper, Deon Anderson, Akeem Anderson, and Eric Anderson; one sister, Matilda Kidd; 18 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.

Darlene will be remembered for joy for life, her warmth in the kitchen, her love of a good book and a long trip, and her infectious appreciation for music and family. Her family takes comfort in the many meals shared, stories told, and memories she leaves behind.
