Darlene Renee Dedmon, 52, of Wilburton, Oklahoma died on Friday, April 11, 2025.
A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, April 16, 2025 at Jones Harkins Funeral Home Chapel with Daniel Taylor officiating the burial to follow at Lutie Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Jamie Taylor, Justin Taylor, Landon Taylor, Natia Hauff, Nickalas Hauff, Mark Manning, Jeremy Harvey and Michael Harvey.
Born in Talihina, Oklahoma, on May 30, 1972, to proud parents Ricky Wilson and Kathy (Harvey) Wilson, Darlene's life was a testament to the power of kindness and the joy of living each day to the fullest.
Darlene's journey through life was marked by her unwavering dedication to her family. She is lovingly remembered by her children: CoDee Dedmon and Selene, Jared Dedmon and Alaska, and Kylee Dedmon, who will carry on her legacy of compassion and strength. Her grandchildren, Amara Dedmon and Lola D. Dedmon, will miss their grandmother's warm embrace and infectious smile. Darlene's mother, Kathy Kline, will cherish the memories of her daughter's boundless energy and loving spirit as well as her step parents Donnie and Patricia Taylor. Her brothers, Justin Taylor and his wife Lekeisha, and Jamie Taylor, along with her sister, Natia Hauff and her husband Nickalas, will hold dear the times of laughter and support they shared. Her nephews and nieces, Landon Taylor and his wife Madison, Eric Taylor, Grace Taylor, Kaiser Hauff, Declan Hauff, and Ayden Hauff, will forever be inspired by their aunt's unwavering positivity. Eddee Dedmon, the father of her children, joins the family in mourning the loss of a remarkable woman. She was loved dearly by her dog of 15 years Gypsy Belle. Darlene will be remembered and cherished by her special friends and many cousins.
Darlene's life was also shaped by the loss of her father, Ricky Wilson; beloved grandparents, Minnie and John Harvey, Joe and Alta Mae Wilson, and her grandmother, Anna Mae Bryson, who preceded her in death.
Professionally, Darlene was a dedicated personal care assistant, providing comfort and care to those in need. Her nurturing nature extended to her role as a cafeteria worker at Wilburton Elementary School, where she served not just meals but also joy and kindness to the children and staff.
Those who knew Darlene will remember her as a loving, kind, and funny individual. Her laughter was contagious, and her presence could light up the darkest of rooms. She had a unique ability to find humor in everyday situations and to share that gift with everyone around her.
Darlene's journey on this earth has ended, but her story will be told for generations to come, a beautiful reminder of a life well-lived.
