Obituary published on Legacy.com by Parkside Brenna-Cellini Funeral Homes from Sep. 15 to Sep. 16, 2025.
On Monday, September 15, 2025 Darlene left this world into the arms of our Mother in Heaven. For the past year she fought valiantly, and despite her pain; it was never about her but all of us! She loved deeply and cared for everyone. This also showed in her 18 yrs as a pediatric emergency nurse at Capital Health Hospital Hopewell.
She is pre-deceased by her parents Dolores and Norman (Mickey) Deveney.
She is survived by her two daughters, Madeline Trusnik and Keara (Eddie) Deveney. She was so in love with her grandson, her little mush mush Mason Hornyak. Her sisters Dolores (Bob) Everett and her rock, Donna Deveney. One brother David (Gloria) Deveney. Her bonus Mom of over 40 years, Nereida Gonzalez. Her nieces Susan Everett, Robin (Mike) Young, Kelly (Rob), Becki Everett, Emily Deveney. Her nephews Bobby and Scott Everett, Stephen (Laura), Christian(Kendall) and her personal chef, Joshua Deveney, Daniel (Samantha) Clark. 5 great nephews Tyler Everett, Michael Young, Gavin Rush, Colson Deveney, Morgan Clark (Brady Machemer). 3 great nieces Alysa Sredinski, Katherine (Kit-Kat) Clark, Sophia Rush. 1 great great nephew Austin Sredinski. In addition all of her bonus nieces and nephews which are way too many to name but you all know who you are and how much she loved you.
She has been blessed with so many close friends who she didn't call friends but family. Her 24/7 phone buddy, best friend Virginia Halas-Graziano. Her bonus daughter Madison Massenat. All of her nursing besties, lifelong friends, newer friends, all of who may not be blood but are Family. All of her besties who have predeceased her that she is dancing with, now that they are all pain free. She believed that once you love someone, you love them forever and you should never ever forget that. Tell all of those you love that you love them everytime you speak to them, even if you are upset with them.
Play some 80's Freestyle and dance today for her. Over the past few months, no matter how she was feeling, we would drive around and sing and dance like we were back in time and that is how she should be remembered, happy, healthy and smiling.
A viewing will be held on Saturday, September 20, 2025 from 3-6 pm at the Parkside Brenna-Cellini Funeral Home, 1584 Parkside Avenue,
Ewing, NJ 08638. Burial will be held privately at a later date.
