Darlene Mae “Hon” Yost Donivan of Bay St. Louis, Mississippi, passed away on Tuesday, February 18, 2025 in Gulfport, Mississippi, at 87 years of age, following a lengthy illness.
Darlene was born to Frederick Leroy and Treva Elderrean Yost in Franklintown, Pennsylvania. A native of Pennsylvania, she traveled with her husband, Eddie, for twelve years, as he worked in various job locations in Illinois, Wisconsin and Missouri, and then lived in Monroe, Louisiana for over 30 years. In 2005, Darlene retired from North Delta Title Company, where she processed residential closing documents, and moved to Bay St. Louis, Mississippi. She worked part-time for the Bay-Waveland School District for several years and also volunteered at Hancock Medical Center. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Bay St. Louis.
Darlene was preceded in death by her husband, Alex Clifton “Eddie” Donivan; and stepson, Dennis “Rocky” Donivan; as well as her parents; and siblings, William Yost, Bobette Lobaugh, Bradley Yost, Ray Yost, Ruthanna Gilbert, Leonard Yost and Elderrean Paules.
She is survived by her daughter, Denise Donivan; sisters, Shelva Walker and Beverly Garman; brother, Robert Yost; her beloved dog, Sugar Baby; and a host of nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held in Pennsylvania at the convenience of the family. Interment will be at Mulhearn Memorial Park Cemetery in Monroe, Louisiana. Bradford-O’Keefe Funeral Home, 15th Street, Gulfport is honored to serve the Donivan family.
